Hi! I’m Kenny. I’m a Data Engineer at Next Digital and an Applied AI Researcher pursuing my PhD at the University of Seville.
If I had to summarize what I do, I’d say I love solving complex puzzles. Whether it’s building the cloud infrastructure to move massive amounts of data or training an AI to optimize a factory, I enjoy making systems smarter and more efficient.
💻 Building & Researching#
My work is a mix of engineering and science.
At Next Digital, I focus on the heavy lifting: designing automated cloud pipelines and making sure data flows smoothly and reliably.
On the academic side, my PhD research pushes the boundaries of what we can actually do with that data. I build Deep Learning models to optimize industrial manufacturing and energy consumption.
🥋 Discipline & Focus#
I don’t just spend my time staring at code. For over a decade, Kung Fu has been a huge part of who I am.
I hold a 2nd DAN Black Belt and was recognized as a High-Performance Athlete after years of national competitions. Recently, I traded competing for giving back as a certified Judge and Referee.
Kung Fu taught me resilience, focus, and how to stay calm under pressure, skills that are surprisingly useful when you’re trying to debug a critical server failure!

🤝 Community & Leadership#
I strongly believe that the best way to learn is to share.
In 2023, I co-founded the Algorithmics Club of the University of Seville. What started as a small idea is now a thriving community where I teach advanced algorithms and competitive programming every week.
I also act as a Problem Setter and Head Judge for the Ada Byron Programming Contest, creating algorithmic challenges for students from six different universities. Seeing the next generation of engineers crack a tough problem is incredibly rewarding to me.

I’m always up for a good chat about data, AI, or martial arts. Feel free to reach out!
